This program for nurses will consist of a series of case studies that will be discussed by a panel of experts. Topics to be covered will include geriatrics; gender-related health issues; interaction of common medications; bone health; and end-of-life. Although the emphasis of the discussions will be on pharmacology, the panelists will include observations about social and mental health of individuals with DD, and the role of nurses and direct care staff in assessing and treating patients. Participants will have the opportunity to present questions to the panelists.
